REGULATIONS

No animal to enter the Show Ring with a Prize Ticket or Rosette attached except during the Parade

Milk Cows must be shown in their natural state. Any artificial contrivance or device of any description found on any animal forpreventing the flow of milk or for any other purpose will disqualify the animal

Cattle passports must be brought with exhibitors to the Show. All cattle must be haltered. Bulls six months old and upwards must be secured by a ring screwed into their nostrils with rope or chain attached before entering the Showground.

All Animals must be the bona-fide property of the Exhibitor and must be in the possession of the Exhibitor for 14 days prior to and28 days after the date of competition. Any occupier of land inside and partly outside the Show District is entitled to compete in the confined classes.

The age of stock in all cases is to be calculated from the 1st January unless otherwise stated

In cattle classes an animal may be shown in one class only, other than Group, Milk Record, Young Handler and Championship classes

No sheep to have lambed within 30 days prior to the Show Day

Sheep born or identified after 31 December 2009 must be
identified with an electronic identifier (EID), for example with an EID tag and a conventional tag. -
All cattle being shown must be from a BVD negative herd or be individually blood tested negative for BVD & documentation proving this must be shown before unloading.

Stewards are empowered to refer to ear numbers if necessary

All Exhibitors (except in Calf Classes) must be Members of the Society, Membership Fee £2.00

All Exhibits are shown at owner’s risk.

All handlers must be in control of their animals at all times

All protests must be lodged in writing with the Secretary on the Show Day with a deposit of £10.00. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld by the Committee

All disputes shall be decided by the Committee (excluding any Member who may be an interested party) whose decision shall be final and binding on all parties

Any Exhibitor violating the foregoing Rules shall forfeit all prize money awarded to him, which shall be lodged to the funds of the Association

All Groups must be owned by same exhibitor

Cups, trophies and shields to be engraved at the winner’s own expense and must be returned for the following year’s Show
